Media interest in the launch was high.

It was featured on TowerFM and the Radio 4 consumer programme Your and Yours.
Attention on the launch day in the Market Hall was
an un-fairtrade chimney.
Cllr Mr John Walsh, The Mayor, and Mrs Christine Walsh, Mayoress, were proud to be present and taking a full part in the event.
Jim Hollyman, the chair of the Bolton Fairtrade group spoke eloquently of the growth in Fairtrade in Bolton.

After a drum roll from Nat Biney's Ghanaian drummers, the chimney came tumbling down.

The Mayor struck a suitably triumphant pose over the fallen chimney and was subsequently presented with a certificate by Bruce Crowther from the Garstang Fairtrade Group, the first Fairtrade town in the UK.
